Do I give up ownership when I post a product on Boomerang?

No. Boomerang is a platform that enables people to lease tools to others. Therefore, ownership of tools remains with the original owner. At no time (1) does the Company possess or is the Company an owner of any tools or equipment, and (2) is an owner or renter an employee of the Company. It is the responsibility of the owner and the renter to comply with any tax requirements of any federal, state, or local tax authority with respect to the receipt of fees.

Can I Request a Tool that isn’t listed?

To Request a Tool that isn’t listed, please email:

Please provide the following information:

1. Name of Tool
2. City/State/Country where you need the tool
3. Any other additional information that may be helpful (i.e. timeframe, etc.)

We will email the Boomerang Community Vendors to see if the tool you are interested in could be made available to you.

How can I contact you if there is an issue during the transaction?

What if someone doesn’t show to drop off or pick up the product?

The Customer will be charged the full amount of the reservation in the situation that they do not show up.

The Customer will not be charged for renting the product if the Vendor does not show. Please contact info@boomeranghub.io so that you can be credited your reservation amount.

Please try to stay in communication with each other and be considerate of each other’s time!

What if I need the product longer than I indicated?

Please contact the Vendor to see if you can have more time. If so, make sure to set up a new reservation for the extended time.

What if an item is returned late, broken or not at all?

Agreement contracts are used to ensure that the Customer has agreed to use the product as stipulated by the Vendor, in anticipation that the tools will be properly maintained. The Vendors stipulate the conditions in the contract in the situation that an item is returned late, damaged or not at all. Typically, in this scenario the deposit will not be returned.

If a tool isn’t returned within a reasonable time period, please contact the police to report the missing item. Theft is not allowed!

What can NOT be shared?

Heavy equipment and vehicles are not allowed due to liability issues. Additionally, Boomerang does not allow its lenders to post or exchange any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, indecent, inflammatory, sexually explicit, pornographic or profane material, including guns/firearms or weapons.

Boomerang reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice, to suspend accounts and/or products for any reason, including Accounts and/or Product listings that Boomerang, at its own discretion, considers to be objectionable for any reason, in violation of these terms or otherwise harmful to the site or services.

 

Is there an age requirement to use the site?

All Vendors and Customers must be at least 18 years old.

How do I know I can trust the other person?

1. All transactions are processed through PayPal – which would help to guarantee that you would get paid from the person on the other end – even if the Customer hasn’t set up an account through Boomerang.

2. Contracts and Waivers should be filled out and signed by both parties BEFORE the tool is rented. These are included in the email the Vendor receives, along with the request to book the tool. The Vendor should email the filled-out contracts to the Customer, to sign and return.

NOTE: During the time that the Vendor and Customer exchange the tool, make sure to check photo IDs to confirm they match the names and signatures on the contracts.

3. There is a rating system where you can see how others’ transactions went. If you are a Vendor, make sure to include a profile picture and a description so others can get to know you better.

4. A Vendor can choose to NOT rent their tool at any time during this process. To be on the safe side, Vendors may choose to only rent to trusted friends or to other Vendors, who have ratings.

5. A Vendors could indicate that their tool would be rented as Mentor-Only, which means that their tool would never leave their sight.

How does your company make sure that I will get paid?

All transactions are processed through PayPal, so the calculations will be done for you on a secure platform.

Payments

What is the transaction fee?

Boomerang’s transaction fee is 20% of each tool rental amount. This helps cover costs for maintaining the business.

How do I set up and receive payments?

To set up payments, you will need to create or link to your PayPal account. Every product booking will have a receipt to confirm the amount you will receive, minus the 20% Boomerang Hub transaction fee. Payments are automatically deposited into your Boomerang account. Once your account reaches $10, you will be able to go to your dashboard and click “WITHDRAW” to enter the amount you would like transferred to your PayPay account.

When I rent a tool, how will I be charged?

It is recommended that the Vendor require a deposit of 5-10% on the item at the time that the tool is rented, in case the tool is returned damaged or not returned.

You will not be charged the rental fee until after your reservation is complete, when the tool is returned to the Vendor. Your deposit will be credited as long as the tool is safely returned to the Vendor.
